Tony's Chocolonely is an impact company that produces chocolate and wants to end exploitation in cocoa farming. Millions of West African cocoa farmers and their families live in poverty because they do not earn enough for their cocoa - while the big chocolate manufacturers rake in billions in profits. This leads to forced labor, illegal child labor and massive deforestation. Tony's Chocolonely exists to change this. The unequally divided bars symbolize a supply chain that is not fair, but has the potential to become so. With colorful packaging and unusual varieties, such as the popular milk caramel sea salt, Tony's focuses on enjoyment and justice - and is growing rapidly. The company now employs almost 400 people and has a global turnover of 200 million euros.

Why automatic route planning?

On the one hand, Tony's came to the conclusion that automated route planning is up-to-date and efficient. According to David Donle, it no longer makes sense in this day and age for sales reps to manually enter their customers, who have to be visited regularly anyway, into a tour. Another major point in the decision-making process was the fact that it happened time and again that customers were overlooked and unintentionally left out precisely because of such manual entries. It was only noticed later that they had not been visited for a long time, which of course has many disadvantages. Thanks to the automatic reminder function of portatour^®, this can no longer happen. In addition, individual visit cycles can be defined in order to better take into account the needs of individual customers.

Many things have changed for the better since Tony's field sales force started traveling with portatour^®. In addition to saving time when planning customer calls, a major point here is the ability to make spontaneous changes, customize routes and add new appointments at short notice, which results in a better workload and more time for customers. Other major advantages are the software's fast response times and its simple and functional user interface, which works perfectly even when internet reception is poor.The evaluation of data also used to be a challenge. After testing other providers of automated route planners, Tony's opted for portatour^®, in addition to the points already mentioned, because call reports can be created and used much more effectively, which leads to a more accurate evaluation of information and improved internal communication.
