With today&#8217;s update of portatour\u00ae you can now toggle <strong>access to\u00a0<\/strong>over 15 portatour\u00ae <strong>program features based on the existing authorization levels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.portatour.com\/blog\/users\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/Manage-Permissions-e1438677017395.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-639 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.portatour.com\/blog\/users\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/Manage-Permissions-e1438677017395.png\" alt=\"Manage Permissions\" width=\"405\" height=\"438\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n<h3>This is where you administer permissions:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are the administrator of a <strong>portatour\u00ae Anywhere<\/strong>\u00a0account with two or more field reps, click Menu &gt; Options &gt; Permissions.<\/li>\n<li>If you are the administrator of <strong>portatour\u00ae for Salesforce<\/strong>, install the latest version (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.portatour.com\/salesforce\/download\">download for Salesforce<\/a>) and then administer the portatour\u00ae permissions in Salesforce via portatour\u00ae &gt; Options &gt; Permissions.<\/li>\n<li>If you are the administrator of <strong>portatour\u00ae for Dynamics CRM<\/strong>, install the latest version (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.portatour.com\/dynamics-crm\/download\">download for Dynamics CRM<\/a>) and then administer the portatour\u00ae\u00a0permissions in Dynamics CRM\u00a0under Settings &gt; portatour\u00ae Administration &gt; Anywhere permissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>This is the effect of restricted permissions:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If you set a permission to \u201e<strong>All Users<\/strong>\u201c, the feature can be utilized by users, supervisors and administrators. This is the default setting. No restriction is applied.<\/li>\n<li>If you set a permission to &#8220;<strong>Supervisors &amp; Administrators<\/strong>&#8220;, this feature can only be executed by supervisors and administrators\u00a0\u2013 in fact even when the supervisor or administrator logs into another user account. This means the supervisor or administrator may even access the respective program feature in a user&#8217;s account if the actual user has no permission for it.<\/li>\n<li>If you set a permission to &#8220;<strong>Only Administrators<\/strong>&#8220;, the previous bullet point applies to administrators only.<\/li>\n<li>If you set a permission to &#8220;<strong>Nobody<\/strong>&#8220;, the feature is deactivated for everyone, even for administrators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The purpose\u00a0of restricted permissions:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Maintaining data integrity<\/strong>:\u00a0If &#8211; for example &#8211; you automatically and regularly import your customer data from your company&#8217;s ERP system, it might make sense to restrict the deletion and editing of customers or the manual import of customers in portatour\u00ae.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Requiring consultation<\/strong>:\u00a0Restrict the affected feature if you consider it necessary for users to consult a supervisor or administrator before changing certain data and configurations (e.g. execute data restoration, change report settings).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hint<\/strong>:\u00a0Only restrict the functional scope for users to the extent you consider indispensable. Excessive restrictions will have an effect on the usability of portatour\u00ae.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Please note:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The restriction of &#8220;Edit call report history&#8221; means that no call reports may be created, edited or deleted for past days.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The restriction of &#8220;Transfer data&#8221; means that no customers\u00a0(incl. appointments and reports) can be moved or copied between users via customer mass editing.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Changes of permissions in Salesforce and Dynamics CRM will only have an effect after the next synchronization with portatour\u00ae Anywhere.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>There is no permissions administration available for single user licenses.
