Being in the field, you know the situation: there are places without mobile internet access<\/strong>.\u00a0Still we want you to be able to access portatour\u00ae everywhere. This is why we are happy\u00a0to announce that the newest version of portatour\u00ae Anywhere<\/em> features an offline-mode<\/strong>. It is available on our servers starting today.<\/p>\n

How to enable\u00a0the offline-mode<\/h3>\n

The offline-functionality is disabled\u00a0by default. To enable\u00a0it, go to Options<\/strong> > Program Settings<\/strong>, set Internet Connection<\/strong> to Refresh offline data<\/strong>. Press Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

From then on, your current schedule<\/strong> together with contained\u00a0appointments<\/strong>\u00a0and customers<\/strong> will be downloaded on your device automatically in the background.<\/p>\n

Switching to the\u00a0offline-mode<\/h3>\n

Should your device lose the mobile data connection,\u00a0portatour\u00ae will show the following message:<\/p>\n

Press Reload<\/strong> if the connection did\u00a0come back and you\u00a0want portatour\u00ae to retry loading the data. Chose Offline-Mode<\/strong> when there is no mobile internet access.<\/p>\n

Using the offline-mode<\/h3>\n

When you are in the offline-mode, you will see the last schedule downloaded from portatour\u00ae and stored as offline copy on your device.<\/p>\n

You also\u00a0have access to all appointments and customer details listed in the schedule. As usually, just scroll down and click on the line for which you want to see the data. The yellow header\u00a0 shows when the data has been\u00a0retrieved. Schedule, customers, and appointments are in read-only<\/strong> mode when offline. To edit data, you currently still have to be online.\u00a0Downloading this\u00a0data is done automatically\u00a0in the background every time\u00a0portatour\u00ae detects that\u00a0the schedule has been updated. For example, after calculating\u00a0a new\u00a0schedule. You don’t have to care about synchronization.<\/p>\n

Switching back to online-mode<\/h3>\n

Once your device has established a data connection again, click on the top-right button “Offline”<\/strong> to leave the offline-mode. portatour\u00ae will try to reconnect to the server and\u00a0if the connection can be established, you will be taken back to the online version of the schedule. Should the connection fail, the message “No internet connection” as described above will appear.<\/p>\n
